I recently published an article that challenges church leader’s to help pave the way to a healthy church. It is of no surprise that the response to that article has been limited at best.

I have heard it said time and time again that if a person refuses to stand for something then they will fall for just about anything. In recent days I have watch the reality of this statement come to life for many people. I have watched as their dreams were literally carried away because they refuse to ignore the warning signs called reality.

A daddy is a man who brags on his kids. I am so glad that I had a father who was able to support and give. I miss him, I love him and I appreciate him. His words of wisdom will forever dwell deep in my soul.

I could have taken a week off. I could have left my computer off to enjoy some much needed rest and relaxation. But as I sit here in the vacation villa, overlooking the golf course, listening to the putting frustrations of the many who pass by, I knew that my Payneless Advice was to valuable to let linger. I have to laugh every morning as I sit here because I know the frustrations of golf. I have a lot of experience in this arena.
Golf is like life, the golfer has a goal in mind and that is to sink the ball in the hole. Most avid golfers have had some professional training and they practice and play whenever they can. However in the game of golf as in life, what the mind thinks is not always the reality of the results. In one’s mind everything lines up perfectly, all the skills training and equipment seem to be in order but one or two distraction can ruin the whole process.
Our villa overlooks the green, which is right next to the lake. As I sit here I see the frustrations of those who lack focus. A splash in the lake water confuses them. A maintenance worker keeping the course in top shape frustrates them. It is the guy who has confidence that steps up to the green and nails the putt. You can see the focus and tenacity in their approach. Nothing shakes them, moves them or causes them to be unable to complete their goal of getting the ball in the hole.
It’s time for me to get off the patio now the temperature is rising quickly but as I prepare to enjoy my day, remember that distraction will come, they are part of life but you have to keep your eye on the end result. Those who can keep their eye on the prize will soon sink their hole in one.
Why is it that so many people choose to remain in bondage? Why do they choose to wonder aimlessly in the wilderness? Why do they feel comfortable in defeat and continually complain about their life’s situation? I would like to answer these questions but I can’t. I have no idea why some can find a way to make it happen and soar with the eagle while others can’t seem to get off ground.
In a conversation I had with a friend of mine today, he indicated that these individuals are stuck in the wilderness. They have a wilderness experience mentality. Just as those in the days of Moses. In the days of Moses, the people would have rather gone back to Egypt and remain enslaved living in bondage as opposed to being free and waiting on the promise.
This mentality is dead. The people who thought this way died in the wilderness. Those who had a positive outlook and who appreciated what Moses wanted for them eventually found the promise.
It’s time to wake up and find the promise. See what is truly in store for you. All the prayer and all the faith in the world will not prosper unless you take action. The truth is still in the Scripture; faith without works is dead faith. You don’t have to stay in the wilderness there is a way out all you have to do is put in the work.
Every morning I get a dose of entrepreneurial adrenaline watching Eric Worre’s Network Marketing Pro show. Today was no exception. On today’s show the topic of discussion introduced a lack of direct contact and a lack of that “personal touch.” The overall idea of the discussion really boiled down to traditional marketing methods and new age technology.
There was a concern that technology would eventually dumb down the way people do business. As we continue to depend on technology, we become more and more familiar with the idea. However I know that there are those who will continue to fight the advancement of this idea and will continue to do business there own way. I appreciate their tenacity towards their own ideas. However there will come a time when they will eventually have to meet in the middle.
On today’s show Mr. Worre’s guest who was from the old school indicated that he did not own a cell phone but yet he owned an electronic drum set. I came to realize that he appreciated technology and embraced it for his enjoyment but he refused to change the way he did business. Why? It may have something to do with the idea that if something is working for you why change it.
Sooner or later we will all meet in the middle. The old will embrace the new and the new will exceed expectations. Change is always good and can lead to new ideas and new opportunities.
I told Mr. Worre not to worry about technology because eventually the old school ways of the traditionalist and the fresh ideas of the new age crowd will meet in the middle.
