Suicidal tendencies, sooner or later we all have them. In fact if I was a gambling man, I would bet all that I own on the fact that you have already committed the act of suicide.
Not that type!
Today I wanted to talk about suicide as it relates to your success.
In life we are all faced with decisions. Some of those decisions can catapult us into greatness while other decisions can become our demise. For example, have you followed the advice of someone and later found out that they were only interested in their own agenda and could care less about you. Yet you constantly waited for some type of good to come from the relationship. It is a decision that many of us have made but have been too blind to see the reality of our actions.
I think we have also all been guilty of borrowing against our future so that we could enjoy today. Let me explain. You are in a discussion with a close friend, spouse or loved one and the decision is made to embark on a great exotic vacation. Even though you know you can’t afford it, you convince yourself that you “deserve it.” After the great vacation has come and gone, you realize that you are stuck with a credit card bill at 20 plus percent. The total amount of the bill will be more than your annual salary by the time you finish paying for it. Not to mention the fact that most of the vacation is all but gone from your memory. It is at that moment that you realize that you have committed financial suicide.

I Hope Not!
Life can be difficult. Life as a married couple can also be difficult. Add kids to the mix and it can become almost impossible. The priority shift that comes along with parenting can be one that causes undo stress and at times disappointment. Continue reading »
In an effort to create (what many believe to be) good lives for their family, many have borrowed against their future just to enjoy today. I was once guilty of this myself, instead of saving money for a rainy day. I would put all my extra cash into an exotic family vacation that in many cases the kids didn’t even enjoy. Can you imagine!
Kids are simply. They just want to have fun. I am most positive that if given the choice to visit the Mayan Ruins or a major theme park. They would pick the theme park and every time.
If you are reading this, than it is safe to say that you made it through the heavily predicted “May 21st Judgment Day.”
For the most part I try to stay away from the news. The news media is nothing more than a negative resource of unwanted information. However the predicted “Judgment Day” seemed to go beyond the news media. People talked about it in social media. They advertised it on the radio, on their cars. They even took out billboard ads.
From what I understand some people spent their entire life savings on advertising the day, which in my opinion was pretty dumb. Now before you decide to get mad at me and send me hate mail let me explain my point of view.

Are you putting in the time and the effort but are only seeing lack luster results at best?
Are you getting paid for what you are worth?
Are your plans the plans of someone else?
Do you have a plan?
If you have answered no to these questions than it might be time to make a change. This is not a call for you to leave your job or to join some obscure company. This is a call to evaluate what you are doing and to make sure that what you are doing is worthwhile. Working within the status quo will leave you in the status quo. You have to be willing to go above and beyond that which you can envision. Those with vision are able to stretch forward. Those with vision are the ones who get recognized. Those with vision are the ones who are paving the way. Those with vision are the ones who are shaping your world. It’s time to become a visionary.

Have you ever come to the point where you just want to give up? When it seems like the world around you is moving forward and you are stuck in a rut? Your close friends and family seem to be making all the right moves and are finding success even when they weren’t looking for it?
If you are like most I’m sure that you know of someone who had a passion for doing something and even though it was not on their radar, success came pouring down on their efforts.
I don’t know about you but I know this story all too well. I use to sit back and wonder how I could work tirelessly day and night and barely make ends meet, while others seemed to never leave home but had abundance and the type of lifestyle I could only dream about.

Most of the articles I write usually have to do with how to make more money, live better and take advantage of the opportunities around you. However today I wanted to focus on the deeper things associated with life. As the sun starts to shine brightly and the days get longer, many people are beginning to come out of their winter shell. Summer is just around the corner and the fun will take you places that will be engrained in your memory for years to come. Continue reading »
However before you walk away from the comforts of spring, I encourage you to take a little time and do some spring cleaning. Most people spend time spring cleaning their homes but that’s not what the type of cleaning I am referring to. I am talking about a financial cleaning, more specifically. I am talking about cleaning up your credit report.
Below you will find a recent article that explains the importance of cleaning up your credit report.
In January of 2010 Sheyna Steiner wrote in article entitled “Getting Rich Seen as a Long Shot…Americans say job losses, too many bills keep them down.”
She talked about The Great Recession and how it seems to have pushed Americans into a negative mindset about their prospects for getting rich.
She explained that Seven out of 10 say it is harder to get rich in America today than it used to be. Compare that response to a similar poll taken in 1999, during the era of the dot-com bubble: Only 38 percent of Americans said it was harder to get rich than it used to be. Just more than a quarter, 26 percent, said it was easier. Today, 9 percent say it’s easier.
When asked to predict whether it will be easier or harder to get rich 10 years from now, nearly eight out of 10 Americans, 76 percent, say it will either be harder or no different.

There is a lot that can be said about how you spend money. Once you understand how your spending habits have evolved, and have identified your own values and personality, you can begin making more conscious decisions about how you spend your money. What type of spender are you?

A recent Trans-Union-commissioned poll surveyed American consumers about credit and their finances. Two-thirds said they are either always or sometimes stressed by money and finances. Only a third reported never or rarely feeling stress about it.
This trend has been part of our makeup for some time now and it is showing no signs of getting better. The cost for just about everything has gone up but wages have remained the same. Overtime has been cut. Side jobs have dwindled. Even the handyman is finding it hard to make ends meet.
How can you relieve some of this stress?
