I question it's usefulness for business prospecting. Honestly I think all the "noise" as you call it is simply nothing more than mockery and a false representation of leadership. Wolves posing as Lambs is a most fitting description. Transparency is what is missing; there are many posers looking to deceive others for the gain of profit. Now that is not to say that Facebook is not on par for the sake of socializing with friends and family. It can certainly prove to be useful and uplifting for many people that are afar from one another.
